hy was GELA founded, what ignited the inspiration?The vision that birthed GELA was a progressive one and not clearly visible at first. And so, it would best be described as to have originated from God. Initially, the vision appeared to be centred on young people. And then, soon enough, it became clear that the focus was middle class and less privileged young people aged between 16-35years. The goal was to empower them to evade the fears of an unforeseen future as regards their career and business such that they can indeed be 360 leaders.
Whats the mission of GELA ?To bridge the African youth unemployment gap by reaching out to multitude at a time through a global collaborative technological and in-person approach.
Who is the C.E.O of GELA, what has been his set-backs and how has he pulled through?Dr Ikhile Osasenaga Favour. Setbacks: Favour stated that part of his initial set back was poor support from his immediate community and they never understood what his initiative was all about at first. Some thought it was a religious group because of his godly background, having held some seemingly religious offices in the past. But then, he was not a myopic fellow. He was always open to people of all tribes, race or religion and hungry for knowledge no matter where it is. Those cross-sectorial networks played a great role in his rising into relevance.
What does GELA do? How many programs is the organisation currently running?Aside the fully sponsored (totally free) monthly Conferences held on her Telegram page often time on the last weekend each month, GELA currently runs two programs viz;
1. The Skillup360 project, and;
2. The West African Foreign Mentorship Program (WAFMP)
What are the achievements of GELA so far?GELA has empowered over 3,000 young people through online and offline training sessions. GELA set up digital enterprise that can generate some funds for some of her outreaches. As at August 2020, GELA has instituted a total of 5 physical offices in 5 states in Nigeria alone and has envisioned to be present in 36 states before the end 2022.
